Not Quite Rugby, Not Quite Football!
Designed this for a lovely guy called Rich. We decided to tweak the design in the end and he has had one session of getting inked up, but I thought I'd share the first sketch :D

Magazine Launch!
I was asked to create an Illustrated Contents Page for the launch of an online magazine called Tribe. There was no brief, only that it was the 'launch' issue.. so I went for an old circus cannon theme :D Really pleased with the outcome.
"tribe magazine is a UK based, international online only creative arts magazine, dedicated to showcasing the best in creative visual arts. Our ethos is for creativity and we work with a range of artists across all creative visual mediums, whether local to the South West of England, national or international."
They're constantly on the lookout for new exciting artists, so submit some work :D

TATTOO
Hey! Sorry everything has been quiet on my blog! I've managed to blag an apprenticeship at Loki Ink tattoo studio in Plymouth. AMAZING! It's keeping me extremely busy but I get to draw all day long - it's like a dream come true!
Here's a sleeve I designed as part of a challenge on my three day trial.. kinda tempted to get it myself.
Somebody cancelled so my boss kindly let me experiment on his practice leg!!
Here is the result of my first EVER tattoo (Diamond Geeza)
It can only get better from here right??

Dead Poets T-Shirt
I've just completed this illustration for an awesome local Plymouth band called Dead Poets (as if you couldn't tell..)
The band are awesome so I'm honoured to have been asked to design them a t-shirt. It was a real challenge for me but I'm really happy with the outcome. Get yourselves down to the White Elephant Clothing Launch to check it out in person and look at all of the other amazing White Elephant t-shirts.
Happy Wednesday!

Reliant Scimitar Adventures
I first painted on this amazing classic car along with the first year illustrators on a "dystopian futures" theme.
In the run up to our Degree Show, we painted the car grey and were given a self portrait theme.
I chose a nice big area
Then pencilled out my head
Painted it white and Voilà ! Even though I was super happy with it, not enough people got involved so the car was looking a bit sparse and weird..
We changed the brief and I painted a huge yellow anchor all over my face :p
Added a splash of pink (very girly!!)
Added the blue background and a fat black line
I decided that everything was looking a bit too happy..
so I chucked in a dead fish to even it out!

Assessment Fancy Dress
I dressed up as my character for my assessment last week. Just in case you can't really tell.. I am a zombie. On my neck and shoulder is a temporary tattoo of the 'who could ever learn to love a beast' design. I had some trouble putting it on, but the fact that it wrinkled made it look like rotting flesh, so that was a mega bonus! I love fancy dress!

Degree Show
It's the final countdown!
Here's a few different stages of setting up my display for assessment. I don't think I will change it for the degree show. Come along: Roland Levinski Building, 11th - 24th June.
I set up a work bench, tattoo machine holder (the black piece of wood) and drew some sexy ladies onto my boards
Then I hung a mirror in between them (It's smashed with an image slightly showing through)
I placed my final images over the bodies on the wall
Framed my screen prints, mounted my book holder and set up the work bench! Voilà !
Had to display my backup work on a table for the assessment

Screen Printing :D
I decided to film myself doing some screen printing :]] They will be for sale at my degree show and then on my website.
In the background is a cameo appearance by Sarah Waters who has been doing some beautiful watercolour screen prints.
I'm sorry that I look so grumpy.. and I was having a pretty bad hair day!! Haha.
The music playing is Sell Your Soul by The Creepshow.

Sneaky Peek
So, I feel like I haven't left my room for about a year and I've worked my way through more robot and alien related films than any brain could possibly handle. But I'm really excited about what I'm creating so here's a sneaky peek at the first 4 pages of my book :D
